Dropout and Truancy prevention: A frequent offense in the teen court system is truancy. Preventing truancy and drop outs is more effective when young people can picture, in their own lives, the real economic value of education and school. Then, they’ll realize the direct and painful consequences of their choices, actions, and mistakes. When you use the Youth Life Choices Programs, as sentencing options, they act as another voice for the teens – as their own voice – showing them the dangers of risking or quitting school. And even if they choose, with eyes open, to leave school, the Programs help prepare them for the workplace, teaching job readiness and workplace success and key life skills.
